“ACT OF VALOR
“ACT OF VALOR”, Wow! Where do we begin… “This is the REAL G.I. Joe!”. When I was 18yrs old, I thought about joining the armed forces but didn’t. Fighting in the Armed Forces of the United States of America is NOT, I repeat NOT for everyone. It takes a special person, Male or Female to voluntarily, unselfishly give up their life for another human being. The Navy Seals presented in the film could be anyone’s Husband, Boyfriend, Fiance, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend & next door neighbor who have willingly given of themselves to protect the freedoms & rights that all of us Americans treasure, without a second thought. I have a much deeper appreciation for the Men & Women who defend our great nation on a daily basis wherever they are needed, without hesitation.
I was truly moved & eyes opened by this film, as to what it takes to be a defender of this Great Nation of ours!
I leave you with this poem quoted at the end of this film and very appropriate as the motto of the U.S. Navy Seals, written by Chief Tecumseh titled…
“So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and Demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and
its purpose in the service of your people.
Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, Even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and Bow to none. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the food and For the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, The fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and nothing, For abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts
Are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes
They weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again In a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.”
I gave this film 8 out of 10 stars for it’s realism, patriotism & true to the heart.
Until next time, don’t forget the Nachos w/Cheese & Large Cherry Pepsi.
